In 1963, the 30th anniversary of the school, the state approved funding to substantially enlarge the campus and expand the academics to a 4-year degree program.  The campus architects in 1963

referred to the architecture style as Modern Aztec which was heavily influenced by the International Style of the 1960’s. The project was an updated Master Plan for the 1963 Student Center.
